Indigo Children

from wikipedia :

In the New Age movement, Indigo children are children who are believed to represent a higher state of human evolution. The term itself is a reference to the belief that such children have an indigo colored aura.[1] Beliefs concerning the exact nature of Indigo children vary, with some believing that they have paranormal abilities such as the ability to read minds, and others that they are distinguished from non-Indigo children merely by more conventional traits such as increased empathy and creativity.

According to New Age belief, Indigo children are highly sensitive with a clear sense of self-definition and a strong feeling that they need to make a significant difference in the world. They are strong-willed, independent thinkers who prefer to do their own thing rather than comply with authority figures. They are empathic and can easily detect or are in tune with the thoughts of others, and are naturally drawn to matters concerning mysteries, spirituality, the paranormal and the occult, while opposing unquestioned authority and contradictory to convention. They tend to think outside the box, and are often referred to as "system busters." Indigos allegedly possess wisdom and level of awareness "beyond their years." They are also said to have a strong feeling of entitlement, or "deserving to be here."

Some beliefs hold that they are often labeled with the psychiatric diagnoses of Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Dyslexia, and also Autism, and that they become unsociable when not around other Indigo Children. They are also believed to be prone to depression and sleep disorders such as insomnia and persistent nightmares.[citation needed] Indigo children also possess defining characteristics in learning; indigos tend to be more visual, kinesthetic learners so remember best what they can picture in their brain and create with their hands.[citation needed] Movement is required to keep them better focused.

Quick Start to Flex Localization

I searched for flex localization and saw that it's not so quick to learn it.
here the steps for localization with running codes:

1- Go to flex_builder_install_path/sdks/3.0.0/bin

2- Run ./copylocale en_US tr_TR ( copylocale original_locale new_locale )

3- Add locale params to flex compiler args :

-locale=tr_TR,en_US -source-path=/java/flexWorkspace/vt-telepati-ui/src/locale/{locale} -allow-source-path-overlap=true ( -source-path= / projectPath/src/locale/{locale} )

4- in flex, directory structure related with localization should be so:

5- Fill the properties files.

grid.properties file under en_US :

ChangeColumns = Change Columns
Print = Print me

Save = Save
Delete = Delete please
flag = Embed("images/us_flag.gif")

grid.properties file under tr_TR :

ChangeColumns = Kolonlari degistir

Print = Yazdir

Save = Kaydet
Delete = Sil
flag = Embed("images/tr_flag.gif")

6- Use localization:

<mx:Script>
<![CDATA[
private function changeLocale():void{
var currentLocale:String = resourceManager.localeChain[0];
var newLocale:String = currentLocale=='en_US' ? 'tr_TR' : 'en_US';
resourceManager.localeChain = [newLocale];
}
]]>
</mx:Script>
<mx:Button label="{resourceManager.getString('grid' , 'Print') }" />
<mx:Label text="{resourceManager.getString('main' , 'ChangeColumns') }" />
<mx:Image source="{resourceManager.getClass('grid' , 'flag') }" />
<mx:Button label="change locale" click="changeLocale();" />

the result :

Change from peopleWare

sabah yolda gelrken PW'dn Change'le iligili cok hoş bi bölüm okudm. degisime karşı olanlar ve degismi destekleyecklrdn bahsediyor:

1- blindly loyal (ask no questions)
2- believers but questioners :
skeptics ("Show me")
passive observers ( "what is ini it for me" )
3- militantly opposed

never demean our old ways. Instead, we need to celebrate the old as a way to help change happen.

people ware

bu sıralar Tom De Marco'nun People Ware kitabını okuyorum. kendisi project manager, software architect, consultant ... gayet başarılı biri. yazılım olayını da çözmüş. adam bu iş ne hardware ne de software diyo, ama people ware!!!

kitaptan en begendigm kısımlar:

sociology matters more than technology or even money. It's supposed to be productive, satisfying to work. If it isn't, then there is nothing else worth concentrating on.

The business we're doing in is more sociological than technological, more dependent on worker's abilties to communicate with each other than their abilities to communicate with machines.

The people who write the methodology are smart. The people who carry it out can be dumb. The methodology makes all the decisions, the people make none.

What seemed to be happening was that the change itself wasn't as important as the act of changing. People were charmed by differentness, they liked the attention. This is called 'Hawthorne Effect'. It says that people perform better when they're trying something new.
